PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF PADA MATERI RELASI DAN FUNGSI

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw pada mata pelajaran Relasi dan Fungsi di kelas VIII-1 SMP Husni Thamrin Medan Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 31 siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Husni Thamrin Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi guru dan siswa, serta tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang diberikan pada siklus I secara klasikal diperoleh 15 siswa dari 31 siswa (48,39%) yang lulus dengan skor rata-rata 58,44. Pada siklus II siswa yang lulus meningkat menjadi 27 siswa dari 31 siswa (87,10%) dengan rata-rata 76,45 dan telah mencapai kriteria ketuntasan klasikal karena 85% siswa memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis dalam kategori sedang yaitu nilai minimal sebesar ≥ 65. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP Husni Thamrin Medan.
This study aims to determine the increase in students' mathematical communication abilities after applying the Jigsaw cooperative learning model to the subject of Relations and Functions in grade VIII-1 of SMP Husni Thamrin Medan, Academic Year 2021/2022. This type of research is classroom action research carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were 31 students of grade III-1 SMP Husni Thamrin Medan. The data collection technique used was teacher and student observation, and test of mathematical communication ability. The results of the mathematical communication ability test given in the first cycle classically obtained 15 students out of 31 students (48.39%) who passed with an average score of 58.44. In cycle II the students who passed increased to 27 students out of 31 students (87.10%) with an average of 76.45 and had achieved the classical completeness criteria because 85% of students had mathematical communication skills in the medium category, namely a minimum score of ≥ 65. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model can improve the mathematical communication skills of grade VIII-1 SMP Husni Thamrin Medan.
