Abstract

The aim of the research is to produce valid mathematical modeling tasks/problems for innovative assessment/learning in the Independent Curriculum. This study used a development research approach. This research consists of 3 stages, namely analysis, design and evaluation. The analysis step is conducted by analyzing students, curriculum, needs assessment, learning, required context and mathematical modeling. The second step is design and product. The final step is the formative evaluation design which consists of self-evaluation, one-to-one, expert review, small group and field tests. Research has produced valid mathematical modeling questions using the context of household expenses for the implementation of innovative assessment/learning for the Independent Curriculum.
